Thread mismatches create avoidable delays. Two components can look similar but differ in diameter, pitch, form or engagement requirements. Whether you are ordering an eye bolt, eye nut or foundation bolt, a complete thread description is valuable.
This article helps prepare an accurate enquiry for industrial fasteners.
Identify the standard
State the thread designation as shown on the drawing or existing documentation. If you are replacing a part, avoid relying solely on a measured outside diameter. A sample, drawing or verified specification is more reliable.
Check mating components
An eye nut must match the stud or bolt it will be fitted to. An eye bolt must match the threaded receiving component. Include information about both sides of the connection where possible.
Understand engagement
Thread engagement is part of connection performance. Required depth, base material and installation arrangement should be assessed by the responsible designer or engineer, particularly for lifting, load-bearing or safety-sensitive applications.
Put it in the enquiry
Include thread, length, material, quantity and application. If the thread is uncertain, send a drawing, clear photos and the mating-part information so the requirement can be clarified before quotation.
