Stainless steel eye bolts are often considered where moisture, weather exposure, process conditions or appearance make corrosion resistance a priority. They are not automatically the answer to every exposed application; the appropriate grade and design depend on the environment.
I F Forging Works can discuss SS eye bolt requirements alongside dimensions, thread and application details.
Understand the environment
Ask what the component will encounter: water, salt-laden air, cleaning chemicals, temperature changes or industrial contaminants. A material that performs well in one environment may not be suitable in another. Providing this context helps with meaningful material discussion.
Specify the mating system
An eye bolt is part of an assembly. The connected thread, nut, washer and base material can influence corrosion behaviour and fit. Include details of the mating components, especially where dissimilar metals or outdoor exposure are involved.
Keep the lifting question separate
Corrosion resistance and lifting suitability are related but different questions. The component must still be selected against documented load data, loading direction, thread engagement and the actual application. Do not infer a lifting capacity from stainless steel alone.
